Ann Cairns runs the global product business unit that develops and delivers payments, liquidity management, trade and supply-chain services and card products to ABN AMRO's clients. The transaction banking unit operates in 60 countries worldwide, and Cairns is currently based in London. She joined ABN AMRO in 2002, where she was instrumental in creating the bank's working capital business, a comprehensive service for major corporate and financial institution clients. Before joining ABN AMRO, Cairns held a number of senior positions in corporate and investment banking in her 15 years at Citigroup, culminating in the role of chief operating officer for the bank's e-business activities. Cairns began her career as a research engineer with British Gas, as the first woman offshore engineer in Britain.
Brian Pomeroy is Chairman of the Payment Council. Formerly Senior Partner of Deloitte Consulting, he now holds a number of public, voluntary and private sector appointments. He is Chairman of the Treasury's Financial Inclusion Taskforce, a member of the National Lottery Commission (having been its Chairman in 1999/2000 and 2002/03) and a member of the Audit Commission. He is also a member of the Financial Reporting Review Panel, a director of the Social Market Foundation and a trustee of the Money Advice Trust. He was appointed a CBE in 2006.

Steve Wilmott has recently been appointed as Detective Chief Superintendent with responsibility for the Economic Crime Unit (ECD), which also includes the Financial Investigation and Cheque and Credit Card Units. The City of London Police is the only force in the U.K. that regards economic crime as a priority, devoting around 10% of its staff resources (85) to the prevention and investigation of this form of criminal activity. Mr. Wilmott was previously the Basic Command Unit (BCU) Commander of the Specialist Crime Organisation. Before that he was Commander at Bishopsgate Division and held this role between December 2000 and January 2003. Prior to his role at ECD, Mr Wilmott was Deputy Head of the City of London Fraud Squad between May 1998 and December 2000. Detective Chief Superintendent Wilmott also served for a period of over six years with the National Criminal Intelligence Service in a number of roles in a regional and national capacity.

Robin joined Legal & General in 1982 from British Gas and was appointed IT Director in 1985. He was appointed to the Board as Group Director (Sales and Marketing) on 1 January 1996 and became Group Director (Retail Business) on 1 July 1999. He was appointed Group Director (UK Operations) on 1 January 2001 and he became Group Executive Director (UK) on 17 March 2006. After 25 years of excellent service, Robin stepped down from the Board of Legal & General in July 2007. He is an ABI Board Director.

He is a Founder Fellow of the Institute of Direct Marketing, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing and a member of the Market Research Society's Publications Committee.
